Not a news item, but a question ...
Do we need competitions?
Should they be voluntary?
I know they are not actually compulsory but there is a heave onus put on Districts, Areas and Clubs to hold competitions.
My experience is that, though some people enjoy them, most club members have no interest at all in taking part.
Inter-club meetings, on the other hand, are generally much enjoyed. What a shame they are so hard to organise round these time consuming competitions.
Is it time for a rethink?
