Dear Club President and Members
A VISION FOR THE FUTURE
During the past year, considerable thought has been given to the future direction and planning for ASC.
The result to date of this process, as first discussed by the NEC, is presented in this draft document, which is tabled for discussion by General Council at Blackpool in April.
I believe it that it shows that there is a clear way ahead for us as an Association of many and varied clubs, which both recognises the problems and which is affordable, achievable and exciting.
In addition, a ‘Background Notes’ document is also enclosed, which is a more detailed look at some of the actions that could be involved in following those strategies.
It is for all of us both in Clubs and in NEC, during these coming months, to consider and comment, to refine the thinking and to start the actual planning. But we share this draft ‘Way Ahead’ document with you and your members now since the future vision and the strategies for achieving it need overall agreement and enthusiastic commitment by all of us - the Association’s members.

Lottery Funding
Redditch Speakers Club in the Midlands District obtained a substantial Lottery Grant at the beginning of this season. Hazel Bradley has written an article giving guidance and tips for any Club thinking of doing the same.
