Your New Webmaster - About Me
I would like to introduce myself as your new Webmaster, taking over from Keir Smart on 1st September 2006.
My name is Brian Micklethwaite and I am Education Director (2007-8) of Wolverhampton Speakers Club, and West Midlands Area President, and have been a member of ASC for the last seven years. Previously, I was Education Director of Stourbridge Speakers Club.
I am an ICT Consultant working in Education, where, amongst other things, I both design web sites and train others in web design. It is quite frightening to think that I have been working with computers continuously for 40 years, writing my first computer program in 1966!
I should like to pay tribute to Keir as the outgoing webmaster. He has picked up the ball from Lilian Watts and run with it to produce a really detailed website. I hope that I will be able to keep up their standards.
My philosophy as a web designer is simplicity and usability, and I shall endeavour to achieve this with our website.
I am anxious to encourage Clubs to produce their own individual websites, and to this end I will soon make available a selection of web templates for you to use, if you wish. I am very impressed with many of your websites and I hope to feature some of them as "Website of the Month". Watch this space!

I hope that the ongoing development of the ASC website, and its structure, will encourage clubs to send us copy. After all, it is your website.
