2012 is a significant year in the history of many Speakers Clubs.
Forty Years ago a number of UK Toastmaster clubs broke away to form the Association of Speakers Clubs. It would seem to be appropriate to mark this anniversary at a national level both on this website and in the SPEAKER magazine. Could clubs who are celebrating the anniversary in any way please let either the National Webmaster or the SPEAKER Editor know about it.

The ASC is always on the look-out for ways of letting members of the public know of our existence and the benefits there are to joining a Speakers Club.
Craven Speakers Club have produced a very simple but effective poster which not only advertises their own club but all the others in the neighbourhood. This must surely be acceptable for posting in libraries and other public places.

Erskine Homes
Founded in 1916, Erskine has provided nursing and medical care for members of our Armed Forces ever since - rebuilding shattered lives and providing first class care.
Every year over 1300 ex-Service and Serving people throughout Scotland benefit from Erskine's help.
But this high quality care can only be provided with your help.

In particular Erskine are now looking to recruit volunteer public speakers throughout Scotland to carry the message to the public.

A new set of pages is beginning to develop to spread the word about activities within the individual Districts, Areas and Clubs of the ASC. Some are reports of events past while others tell of future happenings. Hence the title of the section.

So far South Western and Central Districts have taken the plunge and not surprisingly Arbroath SC. We now also have news of the Cotswold/Wessex Area Competitions on 29th January.

This would appear to be a good way of informing members of activities but also showcasing to potential members the many events taking place all round the country. Read all about it....
