Central District

Speakers Clubs Take to the Air

Radio Forth 1 are to air twice daily Bulletins about the ASC Speakers Clubs in Central District from Monday 6th February.

They will mention Edinburgh, Denny, Penicuik, Kirkintilloch and Burntisland, Glenrothes, Dunfermline & Kirkcaldy Speakers Clubs by name. The Bulletins will go out twice a day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. and will promote the fact that all the 8 clubs welcome guests and new members.
Radio Forth 2 will also use the Bulletins during the same week.
The ASC website will be listed on the Forth Radio website and this will be mentioned in the bulletins so listeners can contact a club near to them.
This is part of the work which Central District committee members are doing to raise the profile of our speakers clubs. We are focussing on the fact that it is a huge advantage to be able to speak well to pass an interview, get a job, a promotion, be a 'leader' etc.
Hopefully there will be a knock on effect for the clubs in the area where Forth Radio is heard.

This is not costing the District any money; we wrote to the News Editor telling him about the clubs and what they do, and the radio station was keen to promote us in their Community News Feature. Perhaps other Districts have already done something similar? if so please share your activity ideas with us, as all clubs want to raise their profiles and attract new members so all contributions will be welcomed!
